Skills

Education

Winter term 96/97 - Winter term 02/03 Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität München

Major: Computer sciences with emphasis on computer networks, network management, databases and software engineering. Minor: Physics (optics and optical semiconductors). Diploma (grading: "gut") in March 2003. Diploma thesis (grading: "sehr gut") on the subject: "Design and implementation of a generic quality of service measurement and monitoring architecture".

Winter term 94/95 - Summer term 96 Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität München

Introductory study period in physics (major) with a minor in computer sciences.

1988-1994 Lycée Français Jean Renoir München

French elementary school, Collège and Lycée in Munich. International Baccalauréat du second degrée after only 11 years.

Professional experience

October 2000 - now: Software engineer, MyControl GmbH & Co KG (formerly Camelot Web)

Development and implementation of SQL-based web application -- from document management system to groupware server -- in Perl, MySQL and Javascript. On those projects, I worked partly in teams to up to 4 programmers, partly on own responsibility from concept to technical approval. My work also covers the administration of web- and mailservers running FreeBSD and the administration of MySQL databases.

May 1998 - September 2000: Student trainee, Cybernet AG

My work there consisted at first of maintining and continuing the development of a technical customer database in Perl and MySQL. Later, I did tests and evaluation of hardware dial-up components and realised customized dial-up and application server solutions.

April 1997 - April 1998: Student trainee, Lehrstuhl für Feingerätebau und Mikrotechnik, TU München

Design, construction and realisation of experimental setups with solid-state lasers and laser diodes. Design and implementation of a measurement software in C under MS-DOS.

Student research projects

2002 May - November: Diploma thesis

"Design and implementation of a generic quality of service measurement and monitoring architecture" at the chair for "Kommunikationssysteme und Systemprogrammierung", LMU München (Conceptual formulation Prof. H.G. Hegering, supervision by Dipl.-Inf. M. Garschhammer, Dipl.-Inf. B. Kempter). The goal of this thesis was to develop an architectural framework and a protoypical implementation for QoS measuring and monitoring in data networks. The implementation was realised in Perl and PerlTK. Grading: "sehr gut".

2001 August - September: Advanced practical course

Advanced practical course at the chair for "Kommunikationssystemen und Systemprogrammierung". The goal of this advanced practical course was to redesign and rebuild the experimental setup for network protocol analysis from the practical course "Aufbau von Rechnernetzen". To this end, a diskless boot infrastructure for SuSE Linux was set up. Grading: "sehr gut".

SS 01: Practical course: "Aufbau von Rechnernetzen"

Practical course at the chair for "Kommunikationssystemen und Systemprogrammierung", which covered the design and management of TCP/IP and ATM networks. Grading: "sehr gut".

WS 00/01: Advanced seminar

"Neue Konzepte für das Management komplexer vernetzter Systeme" (Lehrstuhl für Kommunikationssysteme und Systemprogrammierung). Title of the talk: "Policy-basierte Management-Konzepte der IETF". Grading: "gut".

WS 99/00: Advanced seminar

"Komplexe Objekte in Datenbanken" (Lehrstuhl für Datenbanksysteme). Title of the talk: "Dimensionsreduzierung zur Ähnlichkeitssuche in dynamischen Datenbanken". Grading: "sehr gut".
